Samsung like other consumer technology companies displayed different new products at the CES (consumer Electronic Show) 2014 in Las Vegas to the general public. Samsung has announced the Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 before the CES 2014 event but it was on display as well as the new introduced Galaxy Note Pro and Tab Pro tablets.
Based on the details released to the media, we are taking a good look at the Samsung Galaxy Note pro, Samsung Galaxy Tab pro and the Samsung Galaxy Camera 2. The galaxy tab pro will be available in three sizes – 8.4inch, 10.1inch, 12.2inch while the Galaxy Note Pro will be available in 12.2 inch only.
GALAXY NOTE PRO
When you think you have seen it all, Samsung brought the nothing is beyond imagination feeling. The Samsung Galaxy Note Pro dons a 12.2inch size with 2560x1600p resolution (making it larger than the Apple Ipad Air) and it will run on Android 4.4 KitKat with the 2 megapixel front camera and 8 megapixel rear camera.
The Galaxy Note Pro features a new four pane multi-window multitasking; the pane in these windows allows the same app to be opened at once and compared alongside one another. Prominently the home screen features Samsung’s new home screen layout called the Magazine Ux.
The Galaxy Note Pro LTE model has a snapdragon 800 2.3GHz quadcore processor while the 3G and WIFI models contain an Exynes 5 octa ch with 1.9GHz quadcore and 1.3GHz quadcore. The Galaxy Note Pro measures 295.6mm x 204mm x7.95mm, with the WIFI model weighing 750g and the LTE & 3G models weighing a extra 3g at 753g. The battery capacity is said to be at 9500mAh.
However the Galaxy Note Pro has two variations, one has an S pen feature while the other does not have this feature. And its larger screen means it’ll likely cost more than the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition.
GALAXY TAB PRO
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro will be available in three sizes – 8.4inch, 10.1inch and 12.2inch. The Galaxy Tab Pro is almost similar to the Galaxy Net Pro; with similarity in hardware there is little or no difference in performance. However the difference is there is no stylus support for the Galaxy Tab Pro devices and the (8.4inch and 10.1inch) devices lack support for the multi-window feature (i.e. showing four windows on screen as only two windows can be shown on the screen simultaneously.
GALAXY CAMERA 2
The Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 is a sequel to the Samsung Galaxy Camera. The Galaxy Camera 2 has some identical specifications with its predecessor i.e. it runs on Android OS, 16- megapixel camera, ½.33-inch size sensor and 4.8 inch touchscreen. The Galaxy Camera 2 comes with 1.6GHz processor, 2GB RAM and a battery estimate of over 350 camera shots (2000mAh). The Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 weighs 17g less than its predecessor with 283g while the previous Samsung Camera weighs 300g. The sim card slot is absent on the Galaxy Camera 2 which means the 3G features is absent but sharing gets easier with its NFC capacity.
In conclusion, Samsung’s aim with the new tablets is to bridge the gap between a normal tablet and a laptop computer. Prices for these examined devices have not been announced but the devices should be all available by the first quarter of this year.
