TAG Heuer has announced the first Luxury Android Wear smartwatch – the TAG Heuer Connected which also happens to mark the company’s first foray into the smartwatch market. The pricing is as luxury as it says costing $1500 and can be purchased from TAG Heuer either online or offline stores.
By collaborating with Intel and Google, the TAG Heuer Connected is powered by an Intel Chip and it runs Google’s Android Wear. It sports a round 1.5-inch LCD display with a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels, powered by a Dual-core Intel processor clocked at 1.6GHz with 1GB of RAM and 4GB space of internal storage.
Connected supports Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity; and is compatible with devices running Android 4.3+ and iOS 8.2+ OS. The smartwatch is powered by a 410mAh battery which the company assures can provide up to 25 hours of usage which sounds impressive for an Android Wear smartwatch.
TAG Heuer Connected performs most of the duties of any smartwatch but lacks a Heart Rate sensor and like the others using similar OS the watch face is customisable. It is available in Seven bands colour option including Black and Orange.
Most Swiss watch brands like Hublot, Rolex, TAG Heuer, Swatch Group and Alpina all have luxury watches in offering but most, if not all of them are the traditional watches.
