Tecno Mobile has officially announced the latest addition to the Boom series family – the Tecno Boom J8. The successor to the Boom J7, is the first smartphone to use the company’s in-house custom interface called the HiOS.
Based on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, Tecno’s HiOS has the aim of boosting efficiency and gives more room for intuitive functions. It boasts of a streamlined user interface, improved app management options , power management function, highly optimized audio features and more.
Dressed in plastic body with metal frames, the Dual SIM enabled Tecno Boom J8 sports a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display and a pixel density of 267ppi. Under the hood, it relies on a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in expandable storage space.
In the camera aspect, there is front facing 5-megapixels camera with Selfie flash and a rear facing 13-megapixels AutoFocus camera with LED flash. The Boom J8 is backed by a 3000mAh battery and comes pre-installed with Boom Max app, Palmchat 5.2 and Boom Player app.
The Tecno Boom J8 is selling for a price tag revolving around the N40,000 mark (could be more or less) and is available from both online and offline retailers in Nigeria.
