After several weeks of teasing, Tecno finally unveiled the flagship Tecno Phantom 5 phablet at an event at the Sheraton Hotel in Lagos yesterday. The device is available immediately in Champagne and Space Grey colour options for a price tag of N69,900 (~$351).
With a premium looking metal clad body, the Tecno Phantom 5 sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) FHD display with a pixel density around 401ppi and a 6.8mm thin body. It is powered by an octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor clocked up to 1.3GHz with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage space.
On the back sits a 13MP AutoFocus camera with Dual LED flash which performs well during low light conditions, a front facing 8MP camera for selfies and for additional storage, there is a microSD card slot for expansion up to 64GB.
Connectivity options on the device includes – 4G LTE/3G HSPA+, USB OTG, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and GPS/AGPS.
Measuring 151 x 75.8 x 6.8mm in dimensions, the Tecno Phantom 5 has Dual Micro SIM support, supports LTE connectivity, runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and is backed by a 3000mAh battery that provides up to 6.5 hours of video playback time.
