Transfer Airtime on All Nigeria GSM Network

Transferring airtime from one line to another on the 4 GSM Networks (MTN, GLO, ETISALAT, AIRTEL) we have in Nigeria is quite easy, but remembering all the USSD codes involved could be a daunting task. Based on some requests i got, here is a complete guide on How to Transfer Airtime on All Nigeria GSM Network ( MTN, GLO, Etisalat, Airtel) and how to change their respective pin codes, I believe this post is worth adding to your bookmarks 🙂

How to Transfer Airtime on Glo (aka Glo Me2U)

To make use of this service on Glo for the first time, the first step is to create your Glo me2u pin (step 1). Just follow the step below:

STEP 1: To activate Glo me2u pin, simply dial *132*00000*New_Pin*New_Pin#.

Note: 00000 is the default pin, also from my experience your new pin should be 5-digits

Take for example that you want to set ‘11111’ as your new PIN, simply dial *132*00000*11111*11111# You will receive a notification on your phone prompting you to confirm your pin change, Press 1 to confirm or Press 2 to cancel.

After completing step 1 (which is only necessary if you are using the Glo me2u for the first time),  Here is how to transfer your airtime.

STEP 2: To transfer airtime on Glo, dial *131*the_beneficiary_glo_number*amount*your_PIN#.

Take for example you want to transfer N200 airtime to 08055233244 and your PIN is 11111. Just dial *131*08055233244*200*11111#. You will receive a notification on your phone prompting you to confirm your transfer, Press 1 to confirm or Press 2 to cancel.

Viola! You’ve just transferred your airtime on Glo.

How to Transfer Airtime on Airtel (aka Airtel Me2U)

To transfer airtime on airtel, simply send this in an SMS to 432

2U (space) Recipient’s phone number (space) Amount (space) Pin.

Take for example you want to transfer N200 airtime to 08022233244 and your PIN is 1234. Send 2U 08022233244 200 1234 to 432

How to change your Airtel transfer pin

To change your Airtel transfer pin, send this in an SMS to 432

PIN Old-Pin New-Pin

For Example: PIN 1234 1111
Note: 1234 is the default pin, Each transfer you make costs #5

How to Transfer Airtime on MTN (aka MTN Share n Sell)

If you are making use of this service for the first time, the first step is to create or change your transfer pin (step 1). Just follow the steps below:

STEP 1: To change MTN transfer pin, simply dial *601*00000*New_Pin*New_Pin#.

OR send “00000 (space)  New_pin (space) New_pin” in an SMS to 777

Note: 00000 is the default pin, also from my experience your new pin should be 4-digits

Take for example, you want to set ‘1111’ as your new PIN, simply dial *601*00000*1111*1111#. You will receive a confirmation message once successful.

After completing step 1 (which is only necessary if you are transferring on MTN for the first time),  Here is how to transfer your airtime.

STEP 2: To transfer airtime on MTN, dial *600*the_beneficiary_MTN_number*amount*your_PIN#.

Take for example you want to transfer N200 airtime to 08033233244 and your PIN is 1111. Just dial *600*08033233244*200*1111#. You will receive a confirmation message once successful.

Viola! You’ve just transferred your airtime on MTN

How to Transfer Airtime on ETISALAT

To transfer airtime on Etisalat simply Dial: *223*Pin*Amount*Phone Number#

OR

Locate Etisalat services under your phone menu, Select Balance Transfer, a security code box should pop-up, enter “0000”, next is the amount you want to transfer e.g 200, in the next you are required to enter the recipient Number.

Note: 0000 is the default pin, You can also change your pin from the service menu.

You Must have @ least  #10 extra on your balance before credit transfer can work.
